I sell wine for a living. Wine is a commodity. It’s fermented grape juice, a very common agricultural product. The world produced 275.7 mhl in 2015. (millions of hectolitres!) About 36,666,666,666 bottles! To most people, wine is all the same. It’s intrinsic value is based on perception, not facts – although some 90+ point advertised ratings may trick you into thinking otherwise. So what’s left for me as a wine salesman to make a difference?

It’s all about the connection. How often do you get to learn the story of the farmer that created your food? His soil, the weather report of this year’s lettuce? Wine is connected to the elements, to wind, water, sun and soil, to history and traditions, to families on six different continents across the globe making a living and passing on their knowledge from generation to generation. It’s the ultimate farm to table product. It’s a story of a year of hard work, sweat and sacrifices, of the many choices made in the journey from vine to wine, to create the best representation of that particular vintage. It’s a story in a glass.

Allow me to share that story with you.
